SUMMARY:Malvern Hills Literary Loop: Tolkien\, Lewis\, Darwin & Dickens
DESCRIPTION:Legendary fantasy authors JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis were frequent visitors to the Malvern Hills around the middle of the 20th century and the distinctive landscape may have inspired features of Middle Earth and Narnia\, like the Giant’s Cave from the Hobbit and the Victorian gas lamps from The Lion\, the Witch & the Wardrobe. \nA century earlier\, authors Charles Darwin and Charles Dickens visited Malvern for the Water Cure and most of the treatment centres and guest houses still remain. \nThe Malvern Hills Literary Loop starts at the Mr. Tumnus bench in Priory Park and heads up past Knotsford House where Dickens stayed to Lewis’s former school Cherbourg House before pausing at the Lewis Memorial in Rosebank Gardens and following the gas lamps up to St. Ann’s Well cafe. \nAfter admiring the views around North Hill\, the trail descends to Alexandra Rd where Lewis’s close friend & biographer George Sayers lived\, opposite the former home of composer Edward Elgar. \nThe loop then heads up past Montreal House where Darwin stayed during his daughter’s treatment and past Lewis & Tolkien’s favourite pub The Unicorn Inn before passing the Hobbit door and down to Malvern Priory to find Anne Darwin’s grave and potentially the original Narnian gas lamp. \nDates and booking\nThe walks are available on many dates\, often with the option of two start times on the same day. For more information\, including prices\, availability and to book. visit the Malvern Hills Literary Loop: Tolkien\, Lewis\, Darwin & Dickens page on Airbnb.

SUMMARY:Christmas Karma (12A)
DESCRIPTION:From visionary British director Gurinder Chadha (Bend It Like Beckham\, Blinded By The Light)\, Christmas Karma sees one of English literature’s greatest novels – Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol – transformed into a joyous\, colourful\, feel-good Christmas musical that celebrates modern-day London and all of its communities and cultures. \nTold from Chadha’s unique point of view and in her own distinctive style\, the film resonates with Dickens’s masterful statement on the human condition\, exploring themes of prejudice\, acceptance\, reconciliation\, identity and belonging. Inspired by Frank Capra’s timeless It’s A Wonderful Life\, Christmas Karma is a festive British classic for our times\, and for generations to come\, which promotes a strong message to be kind\, choose love and celebrate the present. \nStarring Kunal Nayyar\, Eva Longoria\, Billy Porter\, Boy George\, Danny Dyer\, Leo Suter\, Pixie Lott\, Charithra Chandran and Hugh Bonneville\, and featuring music from Gary Barlow\, Nitin Sawhney\, Shaznay Lewis\, Ben Cullum\, Panjabi MC\, Jassi Sidhu and Malkit Singh\, the film has an eclectic soundtrack influenced by gospel\, bhangra\, carols\, rap and classic pop songs. You will not be able to sit still! \nCertificate: 12A\nRunning time: 1hr 58mins \nShow times\nPlease note: Film starts at advertised time\nSaturday 20 December 2025 at 4pm\nMonday 22 December 2025 at 3pm

SUMMARY:Sunset Boulevard (PG)
DESCRIPTION:Iconic\, darkly comedic\, and thrilling\, the three-time Oscar®-winning Sunset Boulevard celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2025. \nFame isn’t forever – just ask Norma Desmond. Once a Hollywood legend\, now a forgotten relic\, she’s unwilling to fade away. When struggling screenwriter Joe Gillis stumbles into her decaying mansion\, he becomes ensnared in her web of obsession\, control\, and delusion. What begins as an opportunity soon becomes something much more dangerous. \nDark\, twisted\, and eerily relevant to the contemporary world\, Sunset Boulevard is a haunting examination of Hollywood’s unrelenting cycle – where youth is currency\, talent is fleeting\, and no one remains in the spotlight forever. Are you ready for your close-up? \nThe film stars Gloria Swanson\, William Holden\, Erich von Stroheim\, Nancy Olson and Fred Clark. \nCertificate: PG\nRunning time: 1hr 50mins \nShow times\nPlease note: Film starts at advertised time\nFriday 19 December 2025 at 3pm\nTuesday 23 December 2025 at 11.30am
