SUMMARY:Rhythm & Resonance: Hargest Creative Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Artists and wellbeing specialists Kevin and Mayuri have a joint exhibition in The Book & Cup Cafe at Malvern Library\, starting 31 January through to 27 February 2026 during library opening hours (closed Sundays). \nKevin’s work is abstract and conceptual\, drawing from life’s myriad of experiences to create pieces full of narrative and complexity. \nMayuri’s work draws on her Indian heritage\, using the graphical lines from mehndhi and saree patterns in hand drawn or relief printed works\, exploring nature\, ritual and peace in chaos. \nRhythm & Resonance is a celebration of over 20 years of creativity in its many forms\, including poetry\, prints and paintings\, with both older and newer pieces exhibited. \nNearby the venue is the awesome Priory Park\, so this half term\, take a visit to the cafe for the exhibition\, to explore the books in the library and have a run around in the park: a lovely day out for the kids and you! \nJust a note that the cafe is open for service Monday – Thursday only\, but the exhibition is still open and aligns to the library times.

SUMMARY:It Was Just an Accident (15)
DESCRIPTION:Winner of the Palme d’Or at Cannes\, It Was Just an Accident is a fearless tour-de-force from cinematic luminary Jafar Panahi. Both urgently political and deeply humane\, this new moral classic confronts truth and uncertainty\, revenge and mercy\, head-on. \nWhen auto mechanic Vahid unexpectedly encounters the man who may have been his torturer in prison\, he kidnaps him with a plan to exact vengeance. But as the only clue to Eghbal’s identity is the distinct squeak of his prosthetic leg\, Vahid turns to a loose circle of other now-freed victims in his search for certainty. And the danger only escalates. \nAs they deal with their past and diverging worldviews\, the group struggles to decide: Is this him\, without a doubt? What would retribution mean\, in actuality? \nUnraveling against the constant backdrop of authoritarianism\, It Was Just an Accident coalesces into a climactic act of resistance by an Iranian auteur who is no stranger to unjust detention himself. Powered by thrilling momentum and peerless craft\, France’s Best International Feature Film entry to the 98th Academy Awards® asks us to consider – and reconsider – the line between right and wrong. \nCertificate: 15\nRunning time: 2hrs 13mins\nAD Audio Description available\nLanguage: Persian with English subtitles \nShow times\nPlease note: Film starts at advertised time\nFriday 30 January 2026 at 4.30pm\nSunday 1 February 2026 at 6.30pm\nTuesday 3 February 2026 at 4.30pm

SUMMARY:Meditation and Buddhism Class
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Adhisthana to meditate with others and develop your ability to work creatively with your mind. You can either learn to meditate from scratch and develop the foundations for a daily practice or join the regulars to build on what you know and discover how to apply yourself effectively in meditation. \nAs of December 2025\, classes are being held on Mondays from 7.30pm – 9.30pm and are open to participants of all levels of experience. Please note there is no class on 22 or 29 December 2025. \nYou are welcome to arrive 15 minutes before the start. You’ll be greeted at the entrance by someone who will direct you where to go and help you with any queries. \nThe class takes place in a room on the first floor and is\, as a consequence\, unfortunately not accessible. \nIn the first half of the session\, we meditate together; this is followed by a tea break. In the second half\, we learn about the teachings of the Buddha with the chance to engage in discussion and ask questions. \nThe class is led by a team of members of the Triratna Buddhist Order and those who are training for ordination. \nIf you would like more information\, you can call Adhisthana on 01531 641726 or email us (otherwise just turn up!).

SUMMARY:NT Live: The Fifth Step
DESCRIPTION:Pre-recorded broadcast filmed live from @sohoplace in London’s West End. \nThe Fifth Step\, directed by Finn den Hertog\, stars Olivier Award-winner Jack Lowden (Slow Horses\, Dunkirk) and Emmy and BAFTA-winner Martin Freeman (The Hobbit\, The Responder) in the critically acclaimed and subversively funny new play by David Ireland. \nAfter years in the 12-step programme of Alcoholics Anonymous\, James becomes a sponsor to newcomer Luka. In this provocative and entertaining production\, the pair bond over black coffee\, trade stories and build a fragile friendship out of their shared experiences. But as Luka approaches step five – the moment of confession – dangerous truths emerge\, threatening the trust on which both of their recoveries depend.
