Murder in Play

Malvern Theatre Players present Murder in Play, a comedy thriller by Simon Brett.

Boris Smolensky’s budget repertory company’s production of “Murder at Priorswell Manor” is looking decidedly shaky. The cast are more interested in their egos than the play, and life imitates art when Boris’s wife Renee is murdered on stage.

Rehearsals are not going well!

It seems that each of this inept group of actors could have had a motive for murder. Could it have been Christa, a fading TV soap actress; or Boris himself, the monstrous director; or even Ginette, his pretty, but dippy mistress? And can anyone put up with old Harrison’s dire theatrical anecdotes for much longer?

The hilarious text employs a play within a play device to ruthlessly satirise the politics of the various characters, and the numerous red herrings keep the audience guessing until the final moments of the play.

Monday 11th to Saturday 16th September at 7.30pm. Also Saturday 16th September at 2.30pm.

Tickets £16, £12 over 60 and unwaged, £10 under 18 (prices include 12% Malvern Theatres booking fee).
