DESCRIPTION:Join us at The Regal for a special screening of Empathy & Eternity\, a volunteer-led docufiction short filmed around Boraston\, Burford and Tenbury Wells and tracing the moving story of George Evans\, a child evacuated to the area from Liverpool during the Second World War. \nThe film examines his traumatising departure from his home city shortly after the outbreak of war and the incredible stories of discovery and nature in the local places he stayed and people he stayed with. It also retells the dramas that played out between his adoptive family and mother at home\, the wider local historical backdrop against which this drama unfolded\, and the passing of the torch across generations as George’s son embarks on a pilgrimage in his footsteps a decade after his death. \nA directorial debut from north-west creative Cameron Evans\, the research for and production of the film were supported by many members of local communities\, and the event promises to be a powerful celebration of family\, community and local identity following other screenings across the UK in summer 2024. \nThe evening will feature an introduction to the film by the director\, a screening\, followed by a Q&A\, and time to have a drink and socialise afterwards\, as well as to peruse some archival materials that Cameron will be bringing. It would be fantastic to see you there for what promises to be an inspiring evening with a fascinating local flavour!

DESCRIPTION:The Severn Wells Festival\, working in Partnership with Breathfest COPD & Farmer’s Lung\, is a new Free Fun Family Event to be held on Malvern Link Common (just off the junction of Worcester Road and Cockshot Road) on Saturday 17 August between 12 noon and 11pm. \n11 live Bands/Musicians are lined up plus an Acoustic stage\, both featuring some of the most amazing local musical talent for everyone to enjoy. A wide selection of food stalls catering for all tastes\, face-painting\, arts & crafts\, canapes & cocktails\, an eco-friendly bar\, plus many more!
