SUMMARY:Exhibition: Kim Whitby - Chiaroscuro
DESCRIPTION:Malvern-based artist Kim Whitby’s solo exhibition at Malvern Theatres\, ‘Chiaroscuro’\, runs from 6 January to 10 February 2025. \nKim writes: “I am interested in where drawing stops and painting starts. Inspired by a visual interest in structures\, my work in Indian drawing ink on unbleached British paper evolves to explore tone\, pattern and texture\, in varied mark-making techniques. I prefer working with spontaneity en plein air in places of historic\, geographical or unique character.” \nThe exhibition is being held in the Circle Bar. The exhibition should be accessible whenever the theatre is open\, but it’s advisable to ring 01684 892277 to check opening times if making a special journey.

SUMMARY:Wild Imagination Exhibition (Animation) with Sarah Taylor Silverwood
DESCRIPTION:The animation is a creative response to Croome’s “Pages from Nature” theme\, inspired by the Hortus Croomensis\, a comprehensive guide to the estate’s abundant and exotic plant collection written by William Dean\, who was Head Gardener at Croome back in 1824. Sarah worked with young participants from the local area to examine some of the flora found in William Dean’s publication that still thrive today. They gathered drawings and captured sounds that the artist transformed into characters that go on a wild adventure across Croome’s gardens. \nField recordings and observations from the participants have been produced into an accompanying soundtrack produced by artist Anna Palmer. \nEntry to the exhibition (animation) is free\, but normal admission charges apply for the venue. Booking is not required. \nThis project is generously supported by the Tony Brooks legacy and public funding from Arts Council England and The Elmley Foundation. \nVisit the National Trust website for more information\, including opening times.

SUMMARY:Macbeth: David Tennant & Cush Jumbo (12A) (Broadcast)
DESCRIPTION:David Tennant and Cush Jumbo lead a stellar cast in a new production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth\, filmed live at London’s Donmar Warehouse\, especially for the big screen. Unsettling intimacy and brutal action combine at breakneck speed as Max Webster directs this tragic tale of love\, murder and nature’s power of renewal. The immersive 5.1 cinema surround sound places the audience inside the minds of the Macbeths\, asking are we ever really responsible for our actions?
