SUMMARY:Malvern's Secret War Heroes - A Theatre Performance
DESCRIPTION:Set in the Bluebird Tearooms in Malvern during the Second World War\, the locals are speculating about who these ‘outsiders’ are\, arriving in trucks with strange equipment set up in the back. \nThey wear spectacles and tweed jackets and the girls look as though they are just out of school. All they appear to do is wander around town\, in groups\, apparently showing no interest whatsoever in joining the war effort. They are reluctant to say why they have appeared. \nAre they conscientious objectors\, petty criminals or what? Why have they arrived? Also\, why are they being billeted to local residents to accommodate them in their homes\, often against their wishes? \nAs the story unfolds\, all is eventually revealed. \nTickets: £15 per person and admission applies – book online at the National Trust website \nShow times\nSunday 9 November\, 1.30pm\nSunday 9 November\, 3.30pm\n(Performances are 65 minutes long with no interval.)

SUMMARY:Rhod Gilbert and the Giant Grapefruit
DESCRIPTION:When life gives Rhod lemons… \nIn his last show ‘The Book of John’\, Rhod was dealing with some pretty pungent life citrus\, and an idiot called John. Little did he know that things were about to turn even more sour… \nBut Rhod’s not bitter; he’s bouncing back and feeling remarkably zesty. \nHilariously dark\, passionate and way too personal\, this is classic Gilbert\, squeezing every last drop out of life’s latest curveballs…with a little help from an old adversary.

SUMMARY:U3A Showcase a selection of 'Matchbox Theatre' Scenes by Michael Frayn (FEAST)
DESCRIPTION:The Third Agers are members of the University of the Third Age Drama Group and will perform\, with script in hand\, a selection of short scenes from Michael Frayn’s ‘Matchbox Theatre’. There will be laughter\, bewilderment and reflection as the scenes examine the joys and pitfalls of being human and the complexities of how we communicate. \nDoes confusion arise when you overhear the conversations of others? Can people speak many words but also say absolutely nothing? Do patients cause illness\, and where is the jam in Waitrose? These and other questions may\, or may not\, be answered. \nPrepare to be amused by the foibles of how others talk\, but perhaps you’ll find a grain of truth about yourselves. \nEntry: Free (donations welcome)
