SUMMARY:RBO 2025/26: The Nutcracker
DESCRIPTION:Live broadcast of The Nutcracker from The Royal Ballet. \nThe magician Herr Drosselmeyer needs to save his nephew. Hans-Peter has been transformed into a Nutcracker; the only way to save him is for the Nutcracker to defeat the Mouse King and find a girl to love and care for him. With some magic\, a cosy Christmas gathering turns into a marvellous adventure. \nPeter Wright’s The Nutcracker has enchanted audiences since its premiere by the Company forty-one years ago. Featuring Tchaikovsky’s most familiar melodies and brought to life by Julia Trevelyan Oman’s exquisite designs\, The Nutcracker is set to be a festive firecracker for all ages. \nRunning time: 210 minutes\, one interval (TBC)

SUMMARY:Die My Love (15)
DESCRIPTION:From renowned filmmaker Lynne Ramsay\, Die My Love is a visceral and uncompromising look at a woman consumed by love and madness. Anchored by a ferocious\, tour de force performance from Jennifer Lawrence\, it co-stars Robert Pattinson. \nThe film follows Grace (Lawrence) and her partner Jackson (Pattinson)\, who have recently relocated to an old house deep in the country. With hopes of writing The Great American Novel\, Grace settles into her new surroundings\, and the couple welcome a baby soon after. However\, with Jackson frequently – and suspiciously – away from home\, and the intensity of domestic life starting to affect her\, Grace starts to unravel\, leaving a path of destruction in her wake. \nBased on Ariana Harwicz’s celebrated novel and co-starring Sissy Spacek\, LaKeith Stanfield and Nick Nolte\, Ramsay marks her eagerly-awaited return with this fearless new cinematic vision that charts the complexity of love and how it can change and transform over time. \nCertificate: 15\nRunning time: 1hr 58mins\nAD Audio Description available \nShow times\nPlease note: Film starts at advertised time\nFriday 12 December 2025 at 7.15pm\nSaturday 13 December 2025 at 4.30pm\nWednesday 17 December 2025 at 7.15pm\nTHursday 18 December 2025 at 5pm

SUMMARY:Malvern Hills Literary Loop: Tolkien\, Lewis\, Darwin & Dickens
DESCRIPTION:Legendary fantasy authors JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis were frequent visitors to the Malvern Hills around the middle of the 20th century and the distinctive landscape may have inspired features of Middle Earth and Narnia\, like the Giant’s Cave from the Hobbit and the Victorian gas lamps from The Lion\, the Witch & the Wardrobe. \nA century earlier\, authors Charles Darwin and Charles Dickens visited Malvern for the Water Cure and most of the treatment centres and guest houses still remain. \nThe Malvern Hills Literary Loop starts at the Mr. Tumnus bench in Priory Park and heads up past Knotsford House where Dickens stayed to Lewis’s former school Cherbourg House before pausing at the Lewis Memorial in Rosebank Gardens and following the gas lamps up to St. Ann’s Well cafe. \nAfter admiring the views around North Hill\, the trail descends to Alexandra Rd where Lewis’s close friend & biographer George Sayers lived\, opposite the former home of composer Edward Elgar. \nThe loop then heads up past Montreal House where Darwin stayed during his daughter’s treatment and past Lewis & Tolkien’s favourite pub The Unicorn Inn before passing the Hobbit door and down to Malvern Priory to find Anne Darwin’s grave and potentially the original Narnian gas lamp. \nDates and booking\nThe walks are available on many dates\, often with the option of two start times on the same day. For more information\, including prices\, availability and to book. visit the Malvern Hills Literary Loop: Tolkien\, Lewis\, Darwin & Dickens page on Airbnb.
