SUMMARY:Malvern Hills Literary Loop: Tolkien\, Lewis\, Darwin and Dickens
DESCRIPTION:Legendary fantasy authors JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis were frequent visitors to the Malvern Hills around the middle of the 20th century and the distinctive landscape may have inspired features of Middle Earth and Narnia\, like the Giant’s Cave from The Hobbit and the Victorian gas lamps from The Lion\, the Witch & the Wardrobe. \nA century earlier\, authors Charles Darwin and Charles Dickens visited Malvern for the Water Cure and most of the treatment centres and guest houses still remain. \nThe Malvern Hills Literary Loop starts at the Mr. Tumnus bench in Priory Park and heads up past Knotsford House where Dickens stayed to Lewis’s former school Cherbourg House before pausing at the Lewis Memorial in Rosebank Gardens and following the gas lamps up to St. Ann’s Well cafe. \nAfter admiring the views around North Hill\, the trail descends to Alexandra Rd where Lewis’s close friend & biographer George Sayer lived\, opposite the former home of composer Edward Elgar. \nThe loop then heads up past Montreal House where Darwin stayed during his daughter’s treatment and past Lewis & Tolkien’s favourite pub The Unicorn Inn before passing the Hobbit door and down to Malvern Priory to find Anne Darwin’s grave and potentially the original Narnian gas lamp. \nDates and booking\nThe walks are available on many dates\, often with the option of two start times on the same day. For more information\, including prices\, availability and to book. visit the Malvern Hills Literary Loop: Tolkien\, Lewis\, Darwin & Dickens page on Airbnb.

SUMMARY:How to Make a Killing (15) (Borderlines Film Festival)
DESCRIPTION:Disowned at birth by his wealthy family\, Becket Redfellow will stop at nothing to reclaim his inheritance\, no matter how many relatives stand in his way. \nSound familiar? This black comedy is loosely based on Robert Hamer’s 1949 Kind Hearts and Coronets in which Alec Guinness plays all eight of the hero’s aristocratic relatives. Estranged from the Redfellows\, blue collar Becket believes he is the rightful heir to their obscenely massive fortune. Charmingly ruthless\, he hatches a plan to eliminate all seven of his family members. Shot in Cape Town\, with a stellar ensemble cast\, the film promises wicked inventive fun and timely social satire in an age of class warfare and dynastic greed. \nDIRECTOR: John Patton Ford\nSTARRING: Glen Powell\, Margaret Qualley\, Ed Harris\nUK/FRANCE/US\, 2026\n1 HOUR 49 MINUTES\nENGLISH \nShow times\nPlease note: Film starts at advertised time\nFriday 6 March 2026 at 7.30pm\nSaturday 7 March 2026 at 1.45pm

SUMMARY:Father Mother Sister Brother (15) (Borderlines Film Festival)
DESCRIPTION:The eagerly awaited new film by Jim Jarmusch explores the intricacies of family dynamics. \nThis triptych deals with the relationship between adult children\, their somewhat distant parent/s\, and each other. In Father\, two adult siblings spend an awkward afternoon with their reclusive father in rural northeast America. In Mother\, a reunion in Dublin between a successful novelist and her two daughters unearths amusing revelations. Twin siblings meet in Paris to seek closure after the recent loss of their parents in Sister Brother. Funny\, tender and astutely observed\, Father Mother Sister Brother blends remarkable performances from its talented cast with Jarmusch’s typically wry and idiosyncratic observations of everyday life. \nDIRECTOR: Jim Jarmusch\nSTARRING: Tom Waits\, Adam Driver\, Mayim Bialik\, Charlotte Rampling\, Cate Blanchett\, Vicky Krieps\nUS\, 2025\n1 HOUR 52 MINUTES\nENGLISH/FRENCH/ITALIAN + ENGLISH SUBTITLES \nShow times\nPlease note: Film starts at advertised time\nSaturday 7 March 2026 at 4.30pm\nSunday 8 March 2026 at 1.15pm

SUMMARY:The Voice of Hind Rajab (15) (Borderlines Film Festival)
DESCRIPTION:Kaouther Ben Hania’s (Four Daughters) fierce\, shattering film asks us to bear witness to the unspeakable suffering of Gaza’s children in the war with Israel. \nJanuary 29\, 2024. Workers at the Palestinian Red Crescent Society receive an emergency call. A terrified 6-year-old girl is trapped in a car under fire in Gaza\, pleading for rescue. Her name\, Hind Rajab. Keeping her on the line\, the call centre workers do everything they can to get an ambulance to her\, but impenetrable rescue protocols get in the way. A striking blend of documentary and fiction\, this controversially uses audio from real phone conversations to lay bare the agonising vulnerability and suffering of ordinary people amid horrendous violence. \nDIRECTOR: Kaouther Ben Hania\nSTARRING: Amer Hlehel\, Clara Khoury\, Motaz Malhees\, Saja Kilani\nTUNISIA/FRANCE\, 2025\n1 HOUR 29 MINUTES\nARABIC + ENGLISH SUBTITLES
