DESCRIPTION:Between August and December 2025\, St Leonard’s Church\, Newland is hosting a series of organ recitals to celebrate the refurbishment of the organ. \nAdmission to the recitals is free (retiring collection) and refreshments will be served in the Great Hall. \nDates in 2025\nSunday 3 August\, 4pm: Paul Hale\nSunday 7 September\, 4pm: Piers Maxim\nSunday 5 October\, 4pm: Allan Walker\nSunday 2 November\, 4pm: Andrew Millington\nSunday 7 December\, 4pm: Richard Walker \n2026 \nDue to the success of these recitals\, more musical events will be held next year. Always on the first Sunday of each month at 4.00pm

SUMMARY:Folk Music and Dancing: The Swedish Riksspelmän
DESCRIPTION:Hellens is delighted to welcome The Swedish Riksspelmän\, bringing glorious folk and dance music to the Great Barn. Audience members can look forward to a lively evening with the national folk musicians\, along with their fiddles\, pipes and guitar\, who insist upon audience participation. \nThe Riksspelmän Maria Wernberg\, with Peter and Jeanett Rousu\, invite you to discover ‘Zorn’s Folk Music’. Throughout the evening the Riksspelmän will intersperse their magical folk music with anecdotes about the paintings and events which shaped the life of the famous European artist Anders Zorn\, (1860 – 1920) who helped bring folk music back to life in Sweden. \nThe audience are encouraged to bring their instruments and dancing shoes! \nThe Haywain Bar will be available throughout the evening from 6.30pm. \nTickets: £12 (students in full-time education and carers: free) – available to book online via the Hellens website
