The National Trust is marking the property’s milestone birthday with special events throughout 2025. \nAs part of these 600th birthday celebrations\, the conservation in action series has been inspired by the ‘labours of the month’\, which are illustrated in medieval calendars and depict the daily tasks of working people. \nOnce per month\, between 11.30am and 1pm on the dates below\, visitors who are interested in medieval history and the conservation of historical objects will have the opportunity to see the House and Collections team working on items from the Brockhampton collection: \n25 March: Farming equipment\n14 April: Ceramics\n22 May: Paintings\n25 June: Insects and conservation\n21 July: Horse brasses\n13 August: Old maps\n25 September: Floors\n6 October: Fruit picking ladders\n4 November: The Buttery\n29 December: Guns and traps \nBooking is not required for this free event (admission charges apply).

In the medieval era\, Christmas celebrations lasted until 6 January\, or Twelfth Night\, with not one but four feast days taking place during this time. \nOn Thursday 28 December 2023\, join us for a medieval feast day in the manor house at Brockhampton. Enjoy performances by a medieval magician throughout the day and create your very own Christmastide crown to celebrate the festive season like a true medieval monarch.
