The focal point of the play is heiress Lydia Languish\, who is set on eloping with the penniless Ensign Beverly rather than marry the eligible Jack Absolute. \nCome along to Priory Park to sample the sparkling wit and whirlwind plot of The Rivals\, a Restoration Comedy which has enthralled audiences for more than 250 years with its range of comic characters\, including the formidable Mrs Malaprop\, a creation so famous for the way she mangles the English language that her name is now immortalised in the dictionary. \nRain or Shine Theatre Company bring their hallmark of fast and furious comic flair to this fresh adaptation of the classic comedy. \nIn case of inclement weather\, the play will be performed inside the Coach House Theatre (right next to the park). \nTickets are available to book online at Ticketsource.

DESCRIPTION:The annual Great Malvern Food Festival is back for its 15th year. The festival will continue to take place in Priory Park from 5 – 6 July 2025 Please note\, this is event is FREE ENTRY. You’ll be in for a treat at this year’s food festival\, which is one of the only FREE food festivals in the region.  Munch your way through an ever-growing selection of locally sourced produce sold at a number of market stalls and additional street food vendors. Enjoy a tipple in the sunshine from the bar which will offer a variety of locally brewed beer and cider and be entertained by live music and street performers throughout the day in the band stand. Fantastic street entertainers will contribute to the festival atmosphere. DESCRIPTION:The Midsummer Malvern Community Celebration is back – and it’s bigger and better than ever! It’s a jam-packed day of family fun at one of Malvern’s best-loved free community events. Come and celebrate our vibrant community with fun\, food and friendship – there’s something for everyone. \nOrganised by Community Action Malvern in partnership with Malvern Civic Society\, there’s a wealth of activities and entertainment including cool modern jazz from West Coast Sound\, a performance by the 80-strong I-Sing Choir\, traditional Ukrainian singing and dancing\, a talk by our local transatlantic solo rowing superstar\, craft and charity stalls\, and lots of children’s activities\, including a Treasure Trail and Splat the Rat. \nBring your canine friend along to show off their looks and skills in our Dog Show at 11.30am. Classes include Waggiest Tail\, Most Adorable Pup\, Most Handsome Rescue and Most Obedient Dog. Or perhaps you Look like your Dog? Whatever class you enter\, you’ll be in with a chance to win Best in Show. \nSample some delicious food and drink options\, find out about local groups to join and meet your neighbourhood fire brigade and police officers. \nA great day out for all\, running 11.30am – 5pm.
