The Clock Tower

The Clock Tower is a bijou little brick and stone 18th century cottage, part of the estate of Barton Court on the edge of the village of Colwall between Ledbury and Malvern, and was once the home of the head gardener, his two favourite dogs and his ferrets.

One of his duties was to keep the clock wound and accurate so every week he would climb the ladder in the bedroom up to the housing and wind the mechanism that keeps it working. It is still accurate now and chimes every quarter but we use it rarely because the ticking is so loud it would wake our guests!

The entrance door opens directly into the sitting room from the path. This is a cosy space with comfy seating and a table to eat or work at. From there, a corridor leads to the ground floor shower room, with loo, basin and power shower, and the well equipped kitchen. The original dog door opens into the enclosed dog run: ideal if you have your dog with you or handy for direct access to the hot tub and patio area.  Back in the sitting room, a staircase rises into the open plan bedroom, a light and airy room with an ensuite loo and basin. From the kitchen, a glazed door leads to the rear garden.

The cottage comes with a dedicated off street parking place.  The views towards the Malvern Hills across the walled garden are spectacular.
