Brook Farm – Hop Pickers’ House and Hen House

Brook Farm, a farmstead dating back to around 1550, is located on the Worcestershire / Shropshire border, just a couple of miles from the riverside town of Tenbury Wells.

Our two holiday cottages, Hop Pickers’ House and Hen House, are tucked away in their own valley, surrounded by nine acres of beautiful garden, wild woodland and meadows and a babbling brook. They’re the perfect little spots for a relaxing break or exploring some of the prettiest towns and countryside.

Hop Pickers’ House (sleeps 2) is a refurbishment of the old travelling hop pickers’ barn accommodation – and is what we call ‘lustic’ – rustic and full of charm, but in a luxurious kind of way. It has a spacious open plan layout – snuggle up beside the wood-burning stove, enjoy breakfast at the farmhouse table, settle down on the sofa with a cup of tea or cuddle up in a really cosy king-size four poster bed, listening to the barn owls.

Hen House (sleeps 2) is a charming garden cottage at the heart of Brook Farm. It’s a refurbishment of part of the old stables and granary and in the years before its renovation it was the home for many happy hens! It’s situated in a quiet rural location, surrounded by a beautiful, picturesque garden. Hen House has a spacious open plan layout – and is all on one level.

Both cottages are dog-loving (with no additional charges for dogs) and have flexible start days.

We’re one of Sawday’s Special Places to Stay. Hop Pickers’ House is also a winner of Best Self-Catering in the Visit Worcestershire Awards for Excellence 2018 and a finalist in the 2019 UK Staycation Awards. Both cottages were featured in The Guardian‘s list of cottages to book for a summer break in 2021.
