Morningside Cottage

Morningside Cottage, a relaxing oasis, 10 minute walk into Tenbury Wells with its individual shops and eateries. Located on a quiet lane, a feeling of seclusion but close to the town. With large garden, where guests can enjoy (pre-booked) breakfast served if they wish, or relax in before going out for supper. Complimentary local produce will be in your room on arrival & fresh milk in the mini fridge. Breakfast is an optional extra at £25.00 per room. (Just message me for a sample menu)

Currently completing the decorating, the cottage will be ready in March and  I am taking bookings from April. Photographs will be updated at the beginning of April. The current photographs were taken off the estate agents’ brochure when I purchased the property last year.

Wake up to the morning sun and enjoy a freshly brewed coffee or a Tea Pigs tea from your hostess tray before coming down to breakfast of local produce or ambling into Tenbury to enjoy breakfast in one of the many coffee shops.

Your room, furnished with antiques, has soft fluffy dressing gowns, an indulgent decanter of sherry and the hostess tray has a jar of home-made flapjacks, fresh coffee from Coffee Care of Skipton and Tea Pigs with fresh milk in your mini-fridge.

Your bathroom has vegan toiletries from Tropic, a bath with a rain shower for the evenings when you want to relax before wandering into the town.

I live here with Toto my rescue dog and two cats, and I aim to be here to greet you at a pre-arranged arrival time. Parking is at Morningside Cottage in the lane (layby) opposite my cottage, guests have use of my garden, the dining room if breakfast is booked and of course bedroom and private bathroom.

A small back story

I thought you may like to know a little about me. I relocated to Tenbury Wells after selling my previous B & B, in Cumbria.

I opened Number 43 in a stunning location and I am really proud of Team 43, the awards and accolades and positive coverage in all the newspapers and various glossy magazines during my 16 years there.

My first visitor was an undercover Hotel Inspector, a baptism of fire! We were awarded 5* Silver by Visit England. The following year we were awarded 5* Gold from Visit England as well as their coveted Breakfast Award. As we all know, achieving is one issue, maintaining is quite another. One hotel inspector carries a torch in her bag so she can check under the beds for dust!

We were so thrilled when we were then awarded best B and B in Cumbria and the following year the best B and B in England by Visit England, that was an evening to remember!

Moving on, to be awarded an entry in the Michelin Guide as Extra Special Accommodation is again phenomenal, the Michelin Guide is unbiased: we were visited by an anonymous inspector and there is no charge to accommodation provider.

My ethos when planning Number 43 was to offer a high standard of services buying locally where possible, hence I source those whom I consider to be the best producers to supply us, the same ethos I am using for Morningside Cottage. Some of those producers are now supplying Morningside Cottage, whilst I source the best of other local produce.

We have been debating about the bedroom hospitality tray we used at Number 43 and currently we are not planning to change anything. I make the flapjack for the bedroom, the sugar cubes are wrapped, and our ground coffee is in pre measured sealed packets ready for your French Press and of course Tea Pigs for your morning cuppa!

I really hope you come and stay at Morningside Cottage & am looking forward to seeing you soon.
