The Shepherds Hut at Broad Oak

The Shepherds Hut at Broad Oak is a cosy hygge place for two.  A place to step out of the rat-race and restore your sanity, with its back-drop of the Malvern Hills, location, tranquillity and lack of people. Located near Upton on Severn and Malvern, and between villages Hanley Swan and Welland there is still plenty to do.

The Hut is off-grid, so no electricity or running water! Romantic tea light lanterns keep the tranquil mood, though solar and battery powered lights nod to the 21st century.

Our Shepherds Hut may be compact and bijou but it has everything you could need for a relaxing break, having its own compost loo nearby or conventional loo and shower up by the car park (300m). It is so peaceful and cosy, you can feel the tangles in your brain just melting away. Comfy bed, proper mattress, lots of pillows/cushions to make day-time lounging easy too.

Pack light, remember you are stepping out of the world you know into a much smaller one! All bedding and towels are provided. Really all you need is a few clothes!

Cooking by gas hob and gas BBQ, or toasting in front of the log-burner.

Cool-boxes and freezer blocks are provided – blocks renewed on request.

Bottled drinking water and also a large canister of tap-water is provided, renewed at your request. The conventional WC and shower are at the car park, a 300m walk from the hut, so bring coat, wellies and a torch; it gets dark here!

Forest Lodge and Fern Lodge are alternative self-catering options at Broad Oak. Click here for details.
