The Theatre of Small Convenience

The Theatre of Small Convenience (ToSC) on Edith Walk, Malvern was originally founded in 1999 by local puppeteer Dennis Neale. The theatre operated under Neale’s ownership until 2017, when he retired due to ill health.

Reopening in October 2025 the theatre now hosts an eclectic programme ranging from musical performances, theatrics, puppet shows to art exhibitions and an annual winter grotto.

The space can be hired out for private events including weddings!

Although the theatre is small in size with a seating capacity of 12 or 16 standing, its attraction is also in the building, a former Victorian toilet, which has been beautifully restored and reimagined as a new theatre space.

The Theatre is open for shows only however it can be booked privately for guided tours.
