Applications for stalls and demonstrations have come thick and fast for this year’s Applefest on Saturday 7 October 2023. With over 75 stalls and being only 78 days before Christmas it will be an excellent time to start gift hunting!
In addition to the demonstrations, crafts, arts and food products, the refreshment zone will be offering roast pork, pizza, Indian Street Food, crepes, Afro Caribbean, tea, coffee and cakes, and the main bar. Additionally there will be three artisan cider makers.
A full day of family entertainment includes The Rotundas, an exciting traditional Black Country folk group, the Leominster Morris the Tenbury Teme Valley Band and Mark Russell’s Solo Circus. Pearl Lake Ukulele Band, and Nick and Jane. The day will round off with Blue Moon, back by popular demand.
The Apple Marquee’s spectacular display of over 250 different apples by Frank Matthews forms the main attraction and an apple juicing service will be provided by Apple Teme (bring your apples and containers!). The Marcher Apple Network and the Tenbury Millennium Orchard will be pleased to discuss all matters “Apple”.
Children’s activities will include face painting and the Apple Trail. There will be a larger classic vehicle selection and attractions will include alpacas, Twit Twoo Falconry, Coolmoves Dance and Fitness and the Ludlow Beekeepers Association and willow weaving.
Access to the Burgage is either by the Malvern Hills District Council car park or the riverside path by Tesco. Disabled parking is available within the Malvern Hills carpark and free all-day parking on the swimming pool car park and on Palmers Meadow. The event starts at 10:00 and runs to 16:30. Ticket by cash only is £5.00 with children under 16 free. Dogs welcome but must be always kept on a lead.
