Blue Magpie Contemporary Craft Fair

Visit Elmslie House for the Blue Magpie Craft Fair – 19–21 November 2021, where there will be a changing line up of makers over each day of the fair. 26 makers will be exhibiting each day, with over 50 in total over the weekend, featuring designer-makers who work in ceramics, jewellery, textiles, glass and wood, as well as artists and illustrators.

Despite COVID restrictions having been eased, an eye will still be kept on numbers in each of Elmslie’s rooms so that everyone can enjoy a positive experience. The much-loved ‘Cake Away’ will return, with the option to enjoy homemade refreshments inside at the café at Elmslie House, or to take them away to savour at home.

The Blue Magpie Contemporary Craft Fairs are always huge fun and people return time and time again to discover more treasures from new and favourite makers. The number and diversity of the designer-makers who attend; the friendly atmosphere, with the chance for visitors to meet the makers, and the cake (and other tasty treats) from the Cake Away are part of what makes Blue Magpie Fairs firm favourites with both makers and visitors alike! As one recent visitor said, “It’s an inspirational space, full of inspirational people and things!”

Last year’s Digital Gift Guide was so popular, a new one is being created for this Christmas, which will available just before the Fair in November (via the Blue Magpie website and by email to newsletter subscribers). Featuring all the designer-makers who will be at the Fair, it’s the perfect way to write your Christmas list and find gifts for your loved ones.

This year’s Blue Magpie will also see the launch of Elmslie’s new Workshop Programme. As the popularity of the Blue Magpie Contemporary Craft Fair grows, the team at Elmslie House decided to start a series of workshops from leading makers and designers throughout the year, so people can enjoy being creative all year round. ‘Elmslie Creates’ weekend workshops will start in March 2022 and take place on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month.

Admission to the fair will be £3 on the door (by cash or card, accompanied children under 16 are free), which includes a wrist band allowing entry for all three days and entry into the Makers’ Raffle, with prizes from designer makers who’ll be attending the Fair.

Don’t forget to check the Blue Magpie website (www.bluemagpie.co.uk) for details of the fair and makers, as well as following on Instagram (@bluemagpiecraft) and Facebook (@bluemagpie.co.uk).
