Theatre of Small Convenience wedding

Tucked away in Malvern, Worcestershire, the Theatre of Small Convenience (ToSC) is the world’s smallest commercial theatre. This charming 10-square-metre venue, once a Victorian public convenience, now hosts intimate performances for 12 to 16 people.

Its tiny stage welcomes puppetry, poetry, live music, and storytelling, offering a unique cultural experience. Beyond performances, it also serves as a quaint wedding venue, perfect for couples seeking an intimate and memorable ceremony.

Despite its size, the theatre creates a warm, close-knit atmosphere that celebrates creativity and community. A visit here is a delightful escape from digital entertainment, showcasing how small spaces can hold big surprises. If you’re in Malvern, don’t miss this quirky gem that proves unforgettable moments come in the smallest packages.

ToSC is committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all visitors. Due to the building’s historic nature and compact size, there are some limitations to accessibility. The theatre is housed in a former Victorian toilet, which means space is limited to 12 seated or 16 standing. The threshold to the front door is level access which means the venue can accommodate wheelchair users.

The building lends itself to being able to offer an intimate and accessible cultural space for people who find larger, noisier venues overwhelming. One of the aims of ToSC is to provide an accessible space for those who find mainstream theatre unstimulating, uninteresting, unwelcoming or prohibitive.

ToSC has created opportunities for community participation. This includes valuable volunteer opportunities for young people in a wide range of roles, developing networking and skill sharing. Opportunities have been created for young artists and community groups to perform and exhibit their work.
