Jazz in June, down by the Riverside – 39th Upton Jazz Festival!

50+ performances in 9 venues. Ticketed concerts; free to enter gigs plus Music at the Museum. Our 8th Upton Jazz Fringe with soul, ska, and a touch of jazz ! Malvern Jazz Jam on Friday evening. Upton Jazz Rising Stars in the Baptist Church and the Church Service.

Upton Jazz Festival is an annual highlight in the UK jazz calendar. It’s continued success is easily explained. It takes place in a beautiful setting, has an attractive and diverse programme split between ticketed events and free pub and café gigs and, very importantly, nurtures lots of new talent. It provides opportunities for jazz musicians right across the spectrum and boosts the economy of the town’ Alan Barnes, top British reeds player.

Latest news : After a phenomenal 4 sell outs in 4 years, as at 15 May, three quarters of the concert tickets have gone so a fifth sell out is on the cards.

Upton Jazz is back in town, in 9 venues, for our 39th Jazz Festival with 4 events in one:

A high-quality programme of ticketed concerts, with British Jazz Award winners.

A full programme of free to all gigs in pubs clubs and cafes.
Our 8th Upton Jazz Fringe with a variety of music : Electric folk; Acid jazz, funk and Soul; Ska; Shanties ! Ukuleles playing jazz ! Friday evening Jazz Jam too.
Our Upton Jazz Rising Stars are back – at home in the Baptist Church. This year we have over 120 young performers and 120 local musicians playing.

We gather Down by the Riverside with the Primary School Rising Stars, and decorated umbrellas, at 11.00am on Saturday when Martin Allen will open the Festival.
