Event Description
As the Snow Falls introduces us to Kenneth and Sam – two men from very different cultural backgrounds, both abandoned by society in very different ways. Notwithstanding their differences, they are ultimately brought together by shared grief and a love of music.
This powerful comedic drama examines the shifting social landscape and its impact on a frequently overlooked demographic. Through the lens of an ever-diminishing pub culture, Kenneth and Sam’s unexpected connection arises from one man’s desperate search for meaning.
The play explores themes of cultural starvation, male isolation, suicide, toxic masculinity, and division through technology – ultimately questioning what happens when the arts are stripped away from the working class.
The play was written and is performed by Tom Messmer (DFL and America Ground The Musical) and Aidan McConville (A Single Man).
BrightDog Theatre have proudly partnered with the men’s suicide prevention charity ANDYSMANCLUB to support people on the vital issues and themes explored in the play.
