Event Description
Join ARKangel for a memorable evening of storytelling, live music and rich nostalgia as they bring Cider with Rosie and the author Laurie Lee’s beloved countryside to life – right on your doorstep at St Michaels Village Hall.
This magical performance will whisk you away on a journey through a changing rural England, where tradition meets modernity in the wake of the First World War. Incorporating spoken word, evocative music and traditional song, the show paints a compellingly vivid picture of a time long past but still close to the heart.
Along the way, you’ll meet mischievous schoolchildren, eccentric villagers and the young, wide-eyed Laurie Lee himself – violinist, poet and romantic – falling headlong for the unforgettable Rosie Burdock. All of it is underscored by stunning live music, including stirring versions of The Lark Ascending and Land of Hope and Glory.
Tickets: £13 – book using the box office contacts listed on the Live and Local website
