Event Description

Brockhampton manor house was constructed in 1425. The National Trust is marking the property’s milestone birthday with special events throughout 2025.

As part of these 600th birthday celebrations, the conservation in action series has been inspired by the ‘labours of the month’, which are illustrated in medieval calendars and depict the daily tasks of working people.

Once per month, between 11.30am and 1pm on the dates below, visitors who are interested in medieval history and the conservation of historical objects will have the opportunity to see the House and Collections team working on items from the Brockhampton collection:

25 March: Farming equipment
14 April: Ceramics
22 May: Paintings
25 June: Insects and conservation
21 July: Horse brasses
13 August: Old maps
25 September: Floors
6 October: Fruit picking ladders
4 November: The Buttery
29 December: Guns and traps

Booking is not required for this free event (admission charges apply).
