Event Description

Elgar: A Piano Portrait celebrates the life and music of Sir Edward Elgar, one of Britain’s most esteemed and popular composers. The recital will include some of Elgar’s lesser-known piano works, alongside compositions by Brahms, Coleridge-Taylor, Gershwin, and Messiaen. Through this carefully selected programme, the audience will set out on a harmonious journey through Elgar’s illustrious career, exploring the relationships and context of different eras and compositional styles.

Myles Manders-Young is an English classical pianist based in the West Midlands. He has received Third Prize at the Thailand 7th International Chopin Piano Competition, and a Gold Prize at the 4th Bangkok International Piano Competition. He is passionate about promoting the music of Elgar and bringing the magic of classical music to different audiences.

Booking is essential for this paid-for event, and normal admission also applies.
