Event Description

We are delighted that the Great Malvern Festival of Stories for Children will be back in 2023, celebrating our storytelling heritage and inspiring a new generation of storytellers across a variety of genres.

This year’s project will be delivered across six days in October. The first four days will be aimed at local schools, who will be offered an opportunity to attend and take part in the specially designed programme. This will be followed by a fantastic family programme on Saturday and Sunday open to everyone.

This year the likes of expert stop motion animation filmmakers Aardman will be holding workshops and Horrid Henry author Francesca Simon introduces her newest book. Fantastic storytelling and puppetry will take place in a variety of venues including the Storytelling Tent in the Priory grounds, Lyttleton Well and even inside the belly of a whale!

Free events include storytelling, art activities, film screenings and freedom leisure Xplorer trail.

There will be a mixture of free and ticketed events, with multi-buy ticket discounts.

The Great Malvern Festival of Stories for Children is part funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
