Event Description

A half-hour tour of the Priory with a focus on the architecture and how it developed over the years. The tour is led by Peter Babb who is one of the Priory guides.

The Priory was begun in 1085 when a small group of Benedictine monks affiliated to Westminster Abbey were located in Malvern to be the stewards of the Royal Malvern Chase.

In the second half of the 15th century, the building was extended to include wider aisles, the chancel and a number of outstanding windows, as well as a larger tower, with similarities to the tower of Gloucester Cathedral.

For this event, it is advisable to book online in advance.
