Event Description

In medieval times, Hallowtide was an opportunity to remember the dead. It was a time of vigils, feasts and prayers for saints, martyrs and faithful Christians whose souls had not yet reached heaven.

The National Trust will be marking Hallowtide in the house at Brockhampton with displays of traditional ‘soul cake’ recipes, laying place settings for the inhabitants of Brockhampton, flooding the Great Hall with candles, seasonal decoration and folklore interpretation.

This event is free, but normal admission charges apply for non-members.
