Event Description

A unique opportunity to watch Anthony Cheng’s film, Hidden Music: Within Ian Venables in the inspiring surroundings of Elgar’s Birthplace, The Firs. The screening will be preceded by a performance of Venables’ ‘Three Pieces for Violin’ and followed by a Q&A session with Ian hosted by Classic FM’s Zeb Soanes.

Venables’ standing as one of the UK’s finest composers of art song finds voice in this new documentary. It explores how Venables’ love of music – and his friends’ love of him – have shaped the life of one of the nation’s most respected composers.

This event will last around 2 hours.

Little Al’s Café at The Firs will be open for drinks and lunches.

Normal admission applies to the gardens and Elgar’s Birthplace Cottage.
