Join harpsichordist Julian Perkins and violinist Peter Sheppard Skærved for an engaging performance featuring works by Corelli and Handel, concluding with Tartini’s infamous Devil’s Trill sonata.
Julian Perkins brings a dynamic and adventurous spirit to all his music-making. Based here in the UK and of dual British-Italian citizenship, he enjoys a busy and varied international career as a conductor/director, chamber musician and solo keyboard player. Dubbed “The Indiana Jones of Early Music” by BBC Radio 3, and described as having “demonic intensity” (BBC Music Magazine Recording of the Month).
Peter Sheppard Skærved is a Grammy-nominated recording artist, with over one hundred critically acclaimed albums to his name and is internationally renowned for performances of a vast range of solo repertoire. His ‘Knowledge Exchange Violin’ project brings together museums and institutions across the globe to collaborate on films, events, performances, recordings and exhibitions to explore the interrelationship between music, art and the environment.
