Event Description

Who are we?
Malvern Pastel Artists is a new community art group starting in 2026 meeting fortnightly. We would like to welcome other local pastel artists to create in a relaxed social space. The group is not a tutored class. Open to all abilities, beginners are welcome to join. There will be some beginner-friendly art materials available for those new to pastels.

What do we mean by pastels?
What we love about pastels is that it’s drawing and painting combined in one – with intense colours closer to the raw pigment than other media. We define pastels as including soft pastels, hard pastels, pan pastels, oil pastels, charcoal, graphite, crayons, any pencils and stick form media. Many of us are mixed-media artists and combine pastels with other media – watercolour, for example.
