Event Description
As you enter the birthplace cottage of Sir Edward Elgar, in the heart of his ‘beloved country’ between Worcester and the Malvern Hills, you are stepping into a space that inspired and comforted him, his entire life. Stand within the four walls of the humble cottage where he was born and be immersed in a world that Elgar thought already contained music that was there for the taking.
The idyllic cottage garden has been planted in the classic cottage garden style and offers a place to sit, reflect, and admire a vast array of seasonal flowers and plants, throughout the year. There is also an orchard and small woodland to explore.
Pop into the award-winning café run by Little Al’s Kitchen, who pride themselves on serving consistently great and fair-trade coffee, refreshing teas, and a selection of brunch favourites. Tuck into a wide selection, including hearty soups, slow-cooked ham sandwiches, and not to forget cracking sponge cakes.
The Firs is open to the public on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, from 10am until 5pm, with last entry at 4.30pm. Little Al’s Kitchen is open on those days from 10am until 4.30pm.
