Event Description
This two-day exhibition at Elmslie House brings together three artists – Charlotte Hern, Catherine Martin and Sevin Fortier – whose practices give contemporary form to timeless narratives.
The exhibition will be open from 10.30am – 5pm on 27 & 28 September 2025.
Charlotte Hern exhibits bronze and plaster sculptures inspired by Greek mythology, where her sensitivity to texture and form captures the enduring presence of classical archetypes. Catherine Martin unveils her large-scale figurative paintings for the first time, rich in human presence and emotional resonance. Sevin Fortier shows multidisciplinary work in ceramics, painting and drawing that explores feminine identity, spiritual uncertainty, and the tension between human figures and otherworldly beings.
Together, their work creates a dialogue between sculpture and painting, myth and identity – providing fresh expressions of eternal storylines in the present tense.
