Enrico Tomasso is considered one of the top jazz trumpeters on the jazz scene and six times winner of best trumpet category in the British Jazz Awards. He playsthe top festivals and jazz clubs around the world, having an exciting presence and dynamic personality on stage. His command of the instrument and broad stylistic ability place him in demand in the recording world. He met and was mentored by Louis Armstrong as a child and met and played with many more of the ‘Jazz Maestros’ on his journey.
Cia Tomasso steered her education towards music and jazz during secondary school and started sitting in with informal jazz sessions at 15. Her influence is from a really wide spectrum of listening which has resulted in a unique style, singing with a joyful and relaxed feeling. Rico’s Littlest Big Band is a play on the description of The John Kirby Band of the late 30’s, ‘The Biggest Little Band’. Rico has been playing these wonderful transcriptions for many years but now includes the vocal arrangements in the same engaging style as a showcase for Cia Tomasso’s wonderful interpretations.
