Event Description

Learn more about inventions that originated in Malvern during WWII and the Cold War that evolved into everyday tech we all use today.

Inventions for defence purposes have often found their way into daily use. This talk highlights some of those that emerged in the Second World War/post-war period and came from scientists working in Malvern. The ideas stemmed from the need to defend Britain in the build-up to WWII and then in the Cold War. The inventions are now in common use and many of the users may be unaware of their origins and that they own examples of them.
