Event Description
A talk by Sally Trepte on Warwick House of Malvern and Gertrude Mitchell, the woman who created it
The Museum of Fashion is excited to be hosting a talk by Sally Trepte, granddaughter of Gertrude Mitchell who ran Warwick House department store for many years. A woman before her time, Gertrude began her first business in 1914, eventually amalgamating with Cox & Painters at Warwick House in 1942. Under her ownership, Warwick House put Malvern on the map as a top fashion town, with visitors travelling across the country for their top tier service and quality garments. Sally will be sharing stories from her book, taking us back to a long-gone era of shopping.
Tickets: £10 – book in person at the museum (Friday & Saturday, 10am – 4pm), via email to [email protected] or DM @fashionmuseummalvern on Instagram!
