Event Description
The Last Free Rave is a written and directed by Rachel Tobin, a Malvern Skylines Production.
The peaceful tranquillity of Castlemorton Common is shattered when the biggest free rave arrives on the residents’ doorsteps. Meanwhile, a family’s dark secret, kept for so long, is about to be revealed by an unlikely friendship.
The play is inspired by the Castlemorton Rave – which started out in 1992 as a small, free festival for travellers but became nationally consequential as the biggest illegal rave ever staged in the UK, resulting in a trial costing £4m and the passing of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act.
The play will be staged at the Coach House Theatre as part of the Malvern Pen and Curtain Festival, and will also tour small venues and village halls in the future.
