Event Description

Tom Genders returns to Hellens with Beating the Bounds, an exhibition and programme of art events including workshops, talks, walks in the grounds and more. Tom is a painter, art teacher and naturalist. A member of the Arborealists, he has exhibited widely, including at the Royal Academy in London.

Programme of events

  • Tuesday 5 August: En plein air class – 2.15pm to 6pm followed by viewing – £60 per person – all abilities welcome – materials included – bring overalls/old shirt
  • Wednesday 6 August: Public viewing and open invite to artists to draw and paint in the grounds 10.30am to 4.30pm – free – donations welcome
  • Thursday 7 August: Guided estate walk and viewing – 5.30pm to 7pm – £10 per person – please note the estate walk is not wheelchair friendly
  • Sunday 10 August: Public viewing – 10.30am to 4.30pm – free – donations welcome
  • Tuesday 12 August: Still life class 2.15pm to 6pm followed by viewing – £60 per person – all abilities welcome – materials included – bring overalls/old shirt
  • Wednesday 13 August: Public viewing and open invite to artists to draw and paint in the grounds 10.30am to 4.30pm – free – donations welcome
  • Thursday 14 August: Julian Hight – Ancient tree talk, author and television presenter Julian’s books will be available to buy – £10 per person – 7pm to 9pm (bar opens at 6.30pm).
  • Sunday 17 August: Public viewing – 10.30am to 4.30pm – free – donations welcome
