Event Description

2026 marks 100 years since Colwall became the birthplace of organised women’s cricket, and the Women’s Cricket Centenary Festival is being held to celebrate that remarkable milestone alongside the long-standing Women’s Cricket Week.

The day is free to attend and open to everyone, with something for all ages, including:

  • A women’s and girls’ softball cricket festival
  • Live music from the Malvern Big Band with Nicole Warfield and sets from singer Molly Smout
  • Traditional fish and chips and an afternoon tea hosted by Colwall Park Hotel
  • Special guests including Enid Bakewell MBE and cricket writer Raf Nicholson
  • A Women’s Cricket Heritage Wall unveiling
  • Raffle, bar, ice cream, sweet stalls and local female-led businesses
  • Optional 1920s fancy dress

The day will not only celebrate an important piece of sporting history but also attract visitors to the Malvern Hills area and showcase everything our local community has to offer.
