British Camp to Swinyard Hill

Circular walk taking in Herefordshire Beacon to Swinyard Hill.

Starting from the car park at British Camp, the walk climbs to the summit of Herefordshire Beacon, with its Iron Age hill-fort and spectacular views.

The walk continues southward via Millenium and Hangman’s Hills, before descending via the Silurian Pass towards Castlemorton Common. The walk then climbs steeply to Swinyard Hill, with 360′ views, then back northward via Giant’s Cave to the car park.

Although the walk involves quite a bit of uphill and downhill walking, the paths are clear and in good condition, with stone steps on the steepest sections. Refreshments are available most days, all seasons, across the road from the car park.
