Author Amelia Marriette – Book Signing and Reading of “Walking into Alchemy”

Author and Playwright Amelia Marriette returns to the Coach House Theatre in her home town of Malvern to give a reading and book signing of her book Walking into Alchemy: The Transformative Power of Nature. Back for the first time in three years as Covid-19 measures are lifted, Amelia is delighted to return.

Having grown up in Malvern and worked for 12 years for the Defence Research Agency Amelia resigned to study for an MA in Shakespeare Studies at the Shakespeare Institute (University of Birmingham). She then worked as a curator for many years. Alongside her career as a curator, she continued her working relationship with Malvern Theatre Players with Chris Bassett as her mentor.

In 2015 she relocated to Austria, and in 2019 her book Walking into Alchemy: The Transformative Power of Nature was published by Mereo Books of Cirencester. She will be giving a book reading/signing to talk about Walking into Alchemy at the Coach House Theatre, Grange Road Malvern, at 1.30 pm on Sunday 28 August 2022. She will read extracts from the book and show a drone film which accompanies the book, about the same walk she completed every week for a year in the hills and mountains of the Carinthian Region of Austria, where she now lives. Amelia will also be announcing her next book, about her father, Leonard Eason, who lived in Malvern with his wife Brenda Eason from 1973 until his death in 2015. Leonard Eason, originally from Surrey, was conscripted into the RAF in 1943 with his twin brother John and then later posted to RAF Klagenfurt, which is very close to where Amelia now lives in Austria. The book will be based on her fathers superb handwritten diaries and exquisite watercolours.
