Malvern Jazz, Blues & Swing club are enjoying a fine start to their 2022 programme and now look forward to the visit of the hugely popular Midlands based “Fret and Fiddle” (pictured).
Fret and Fiddle are an award-winning group who formed in 2001 as a duo when founders Sally and Andy discovered they had a mutual enthusiasm for ‘The Hot Club de France’, namely, the musical legends guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stephane Grappelli. Now a quintet, they evoke the early Hot Club days from the swinging Parisian night clubs of the 1920s.
The band offer that special something that is just that little bit different, quirky and imaginative and play swing tunes, gypsy music, klezmer and blues.
Club treasurer Neil Thwaites commented “we are so thrilled to welcome Fret and Fiddle to the club, they are entertaining, refreshing and highly accomplished musicians”.
“We very much look forward to a superb evening of swinging jazz and blues”.
Everyone is welcome and the normal charge is just £10 (cash only) on the door – pre-booking tickets are not required.
The session will start at 8pm and finish by 10:30pm (including interval).
The sessions were founded by Len Thwaites and his son Neil in June 1995, at the Railway Inn, Malvern Wells.
As a ‘not-for-profit’ organisation all proceeds are used to provide the musicians and bands for our regular sessions.
Live music fans can head over to the club’s website for more information and further details of all upcoming events.
