Upton upon Severn is a great alternative to stopping off for lunch at the motorway services, with the M5/M50 motorway being only 6.5 miles away. There are plenty of places to stop for a bite to eat.

Pre-book your coach stop and you can benefit from a warm and friendly ‘meet and greet’ service from the local Tourist Information Team, where your coach passengers will be given a free town map, the option of taking part in a Blue Badge Guided Tour of Upton, Discounts on Cream Teas at The Boathouse and, where possible, pre-arranged entry to the Tudor House Museum.  A large Coach Car park, just a few minutes’ walk from the town centre makes stops in Upton ideal, and what’s more we will even provide a lunch voucher for the coach driver where they can choose where to eat.

Nestled on the banks of the River Severn in Worcestershire, the historic, picturesque town of Upton upon Severn provides a perfect stop for coach trips.  With its close proximity to the M50/M5 motorway network, the town can offer a welcome and convenient break for longer coach journeys or why not just add it as an extra location to your itinerary?

For those wishing to extend their stays or make a return visit (many people find they want to come back for more having stopped off once!) the Tourist Information Team can offer an itinerary planning service.

Please note coaches need to be pre-booked at least three weeks in advance (preferably longer) for the meet and greet service.

About Upton upon Severn

History and Architecture

Upton upon Severn is a small town, steeped in history and with lots of architecturally interesting old buildings.  The Tourist Information Centre (TIC) is based in the striking ‘Pepperpot’ Tower which is also the oldest surviving building in Upton and home to the Heritage Centre.  Here, a timeline charts key events in the town’s history, from its role in the English Civil War, the Cholera epidemic to more recent times. There’s also the Tudor House Museum which we will negotiate opening times with the volunteers on your behalf or book a discounted Blue Badge Guide.

Take A Stroll Around The Shops and Along The Riverside

For those wanting to just wander freely, why not take a stroll along the river and along the Ham (a Site of Specific Scientific Interest, SSI), look around the extensive range of Independent Retailers, have a bite to eat in one of the many local pubs or have a relaxing picnic in the beautiful Old Churchyard Gardens, winner of many Upton in Bloom prizes, at the foot of the striking ‘Pepperpot’ Tower.
