Gas Lamp Malvern Jan Sedlacek

Discover how local artists have teamed up with Malvern traders to evoke the magic of Narnia in creative window displays celebrating the 125th birthday of author C S Lewis.

Creatives Connect Malvern is proud to team up with Malvern Hills District Council and Great Malvern Traders to unleash a wave of creativity, delivering the Narnia Art Trail.

Creatives Connect Malvern is a new arts initiative and their purpose is to celebrate creatives, of all genres and skills,  connecting them to each other, new venues and new audiences.  They aim to create new opportunities both professionally and socially across the Malvern Hills and are delighted that more than 40 local businesses are participating in the Narnia Art Trail, partnering with over 15 local artists to share creative ideas, make connections and produce wonderful window displays across Malvern.

The gas lampposts of Malvern inspired C S Lewis’s imagination when he created his magical entrance to Narnia through that famous wardrobe. Look out for the lamppost symbol in windows of shops, businesses and charities around our towns. The Narnia Art Trail marks the start of a week of festivities, celebrating the town’s strong association with C S Lewis, who came to school here and returned often to walk the hills and to feed his own creative spirit.

Creatives Connect Malvern is delighted that so many of the local businesses and shops want to support this community art programme and hope that each business has made a productive new connection with a local artist that will continue to grow and flourish.
