Malvern Hills District Council is committed to encouraging and supporting suppliers to provide quality jobs and decent work within the tourism sector.
The destination encourages, educates, and supports suppliers—particularly accommodation providers—to take action against modern slavery and all forms of exploitation through increased awareness, ethical recruitment, and responsible supply chain management.
Through training, guidance, and partnership working, suppliers are encouraged to adopt fair and ethical employment practices, including the payment of fair and, where possible, real living wages, the provision of safe and supportive working conditions, and equal opportunities for all employees.
The Council promotes a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, exploitation, and unethical recruitment, supporting suppliers to understand and meet their responsibilities around transparency and legal compliance. This work also highlights the importance of staff wellbeing, skills development, and inclusive workplaces, helping suppliers create secure, rewarding roles and positive career pathways that benefit local communities and the wider visitor economy.
