SPARC Disability Film Festival – 23 October – 3 December 2021

Family Fun | The Arts

The Disability Film Festival is coming to St.Peter’s Art Church on 23 October till 3 December, focusing on creating a platform for vivid storytelling that highlights the experiences of disabled filmmakers from all walks of life. It becomes ever-increasingly important to not only demand appropriate and accurate representation in the media, but to create discourse and critically analyse the representation on display.

Taking films from the past twenty years, this is an opportunity to showcase portrayals of disability through cinema as well enjoy some beautiful and thought-provoking films (as well as some family favourites!) It’s an opportunity to enjoy and to engage in discussion.

Films being featured include Love and Other Drugs, The Theory of Everything, Wonder, The Upside, and many more.

The Parish of Malvern Link with Cowleigh operates three centres of worship each with a distinct focus. St Peter’s Arts Church (SPARC) on Cowleigh Bank, The Church of the Ascension on Somers Park Avenue, which provides contemplation and reconciliation workshops and St Matthias, which has a strong community slant.
