With the weather warming up and gifting us a few lovely sunny days there are plenty of chances for you to make the most of the sunshine in The Malverns. There’s no need to worry about activities to fill the May half term as, apart from the extensive programme of events organised for the Queens Platinum Jubilee, there’s plenty going on to suit all budgets and ages.

Eastnor Steam Weekend – 28 & 29 May 2022
Head to the historic Eastnor Castle for this nostalgic family fun day. There will be so much to see from an impressive fleet of steam engines and vintage cars to giant garden games, model steam engine rides, a vintage carousel, chair swing, old-fashioned dance workshops and pony rides. There will also be live music providing a festive atmosphere to this summer fun day. Tickets include access to the castle and grounds so there are also acres of gorgeous gardens in full bloom or the swish state rooms to see on your visit.
Grease Sing-Along at The Regal Tenbury – 29 May 2022
Come and sing-along with this classic musical on Sunday 29 May 2022 from 4pm – 6pm at The Regal, Tenbury in aid of The Mayor’s Charity – supporting Tenbury Charities and local residents in need.
Usually during film screenings it is polite to keep quiet and not rustle your sweet packets too loudly, well at a sing-along you are encouraged to join in with the actors and break into song too. It doesn’t matter if you are a regular at the choir or just dusting off your vocal chords after a long break, everyone is welcome to raise a tune to all the favourites such as Summer Nights and Greased Lightening. You are also encouraged to dress up as one of the characters or just in your finest 1950’s style threads.
Musical Mashup Workshop at Malvern Theatres – 31 May & 1 June 2022
Will you have a budding musical theatre star cooped up at home this half term? Let them explore their talent with this Musical Mashup workshop from the marvellous Sophie Lusted. Including working with extracts from SING 2 and Disney’s Encanto, this energetic workshop will give your young musical theatre actor chance to shine! The two day workshop will be jam-packed with laugher and games and includes an opportunity to take to the stage in front of friends and family in the Forum Theatre at the end of the workshop.
Taking place across two days from Tuesday 31 May and Wednesday 1 June from 10am – 4pm the workshop is perfect for children aged 7-12 years old.
Have a Musical Day Out at Priory Park – 29 May 2022
This summer the famous bands in the park are back. On 29 May Lydbrook Brass Band will be playing from 2:30 – 4:30 in the Priory Park bandstand and are sure to provide the soundtrack to a fun family day out in Priory Park. Whether you just want to sit under the trees, listen to the music and have an ice cream, or seek adventure in the newly built adventure play park the park offers entertainment for all. Hills & Sky Exhibition at iapetus gallery 28 May – 18 June 2022
Popular local artist Tia Lambert is exhibiting her long awaited new collection of vivid original landscapes at iapetus gallery in Great Malvern. Tia is best known for her watercolours however, she is equally adept at oil painting. She works with the strong, bold colours brilliantly to bring the hills we know and love to life. If paintings aren’t for you, you are sure to find something you like in iapetus gallery as it also sells craftwork from over 100 independent makers.
Bouncy Castle Fun at The Cob House – 30 May 2022
The Cob house is putting on a fab bouncy castle fun day with unlimited play for the day costing just £5. This includes an obstacle course fun run (age 5+) a jungle fun run (up to age 5), an ocean bouncer (up to age 5) and garden games. This is on top of the Cob House’s usual brilliant offering of free to enter parkland with resident animals to greet, play area and highly rated café.
