Worcestershire Open Studios has announced the official launch of its 2025 ‘Art Week’, a free, countywide celebration of art and craft taking place from 16–25 August 2025. Marking its 10 year anniversary, this year’s event will be the largest to date, with 167 local artists and makers showcasing their work across 105 venues from Hagley to Evesham, Alcester to Colwall and everywhere in between.
With the launch of the official event website, visitors can now plan their routes and tailor their experience with ease. The inspiring 10-day event offers the rare chance to step inside working studios, meet local creatives, and delve into the inspiration and techniques behind their work all set against the scenic backdrop of the Worcestershire countryside.
From painters, ceramicists and sculptors to jewellers, textile artists, and printmakers, the lineup reflects a rich diversity of artistic expression. Over the past decade, Worcestershire Open Studios has grown a loyal following, drawing visitors from across the Midlands and beyond.
“We know that people are always on the lookout for something special to do around the August Bank Holiday period,” said Gemma Griffiths, part of the new, volunteer organising team, alongside fellow artists Mary Brittain and Anna Cumming. “And what could be better than exploring the county whilst discovering local artists and makers, and getting behind the scenes of how and why art is made?”
To help visitors make the most of their experience, an interactive digital guide and map is now live at www.worcestershireopenstudios.org. A free 64-page printed guide will also be available from tourist information centres and selected outlets throughout the county including Bevere Gallery, Malvern Library and many more from mid June.
In addition to open studios, many venues will host workshops, exhibitions, demonstrations, and offer original art and handmade items for sale, including paintings, prints, ceramics, jewellery, cards, and unique gifts.
“If you’ve never visited Art Week before, this is the year to give it a try,” added Griffiths. “And even if you think art isn’t really your thing, you might be surprised. There’s so much talent here in Worcestershire, and something to delight just about everyone.”
