The Malvern Hills Vineyards group reports most awarded year ever and anticipates bumper harvest to benefit from investment in the winery
The Malvern Hills Vineyards – a collaboration between six independent vineyards across the three counties – anticipates a bumper harvest in the coming weeks, as the group reports its most-awarded year ever for its wines.
Wines from the vineyards have won a record-breaking 50 national and international awards in 2025 alone, including from the Decanter World Wine Awards, the 2025 London Tasting Awards, and awards from WineGB, including best contract winery for Three Choirs. As all the six vineyards have their wines made by Three Choirs, there is increasing confidence in the potential for the high-quality grapes grown in the foot of the Malvern Hills to be made into delicious wines.
Jeremy Macklin, Chair of The Malvern Hills Vineyards, said; “This year has been a wonderful collective success for our members, as wines of all varieties from across the three counties have won national and international awards.
“This is a brilliant testament to the quality of the wines being produced in the region – and we predict wines produced from this year’s harvest may be even better as early signs across all our members’ vineyards indicate one of our best harvests yet due to the long, hot summer. We benefit from the fantastic help from Three Choirs to transition the grapes that we grow into award-winning wines. They have just invested in a brand new grape press which means that we can accelerate the transformation of the grapes into wines, and retain the excellent flavours.”
The Malvern Hills Vineyards is a collaboration working together to highlight local expertise, quality and reputation in growing superlative grapes and making excellent wine in the region. Together, members grow 14 grape varieties over more than 35 hectares across Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.
The six vineyards are Three Choirs, Chase End, Bromesberrow Place, Foxbury Fields, Marlbank and Two Beacons Vineyard, and the collaboration aims to raise awareness and interest in this burgeoning sector which has deep roots in the Malvern Hills area. Grapevines were grown in the Hills back in Roman times.
